OUR STORIES
Supporting transitions matters a great deal to me. I was born in Korea and adopted by a family in Oregon. Having been deeply curious about origin stories, culture, race, gender, and power dynamics from a young age. I studied anthropology and sociology in Portland, and was eventually drawn to New York City for graduate studies, but really for the diversity of the City itself. Experience is the most thorough teacher.
Doulas are experience-based guides, centering knowledge and attunement in our bodies and senses, not just our heads. We provide a quality of attention that is often missing in this medically oriented society, especially for major transitions. As a person who has grappled with my own past and identity, I attend with care to what some call the bardo, liminal, or the "betwixt and between." We co-create our stories, and it is an honor to act as a steady companion and advocate with yours.
